Horses For The Homeless & Horses For The Hungry

1st Apr 2014

For those of you that are not living near Saratoga Springs, NY, we had a homeless lady die of the cold in December 2013.

We also have a new Mayor, Joanne Yepsen. When Joanne started her campaign, I gave her one of these horses as a good luck charm. It worked!

When I heard of the death of this lady, I read that Mayor Yepsen has opened a new shelter called "CODE BLUE". When the weather is 10 degrees or lower or there is a foot or more of snow, Code Blue will be declared. The unsheltered homeless population can spend the night there with no questions asked.

I wanted to do something to support the homeless. I thought, well, maybe if I sell the horses, I can donate $10 for every horse sold to CODE BLUE.

Through a friend of mine, I was able to make contact with The Shelters of Saratoga. The people who run the program are amazing and were very open to my "Horses For Homeless" fundraiser. So, for every horse sold, RM Irish Jewels will donate $10 to Shelters of Saratoga for CODE BLUE. Available on my website under Necklaces.

Another Program that I work with is called the "Horses For The Hungry". I offer for sale a Silver Plate Horse Theme Charm Bracelet with 10% of the proceeds go to The Northeastern Regional Food Bank of NY.

If you live in the Saratoga area, both the "Horses for the Homeless" Sterling Silver Pendant and Chain are for sale at Impressions @ 368 Broadway, Saratoga Springs, NY or The Batcheller Mansion Inn 20 Circular Street, Saratoga Springs, NY.

Please note that I will have limited quantities. More will be made if the demand is there...thank you!

About the pendant...Available on my website here.

he ultimate in horse pendants! Can't you just feel this horse coming out of the gate?

Beautifully crafted sterling silver horse with so much detail that the artist included the hair on the mane and the tail.

Since the artist loves horses, you can see the passion he has for these animals.

And, since I now live in Saratoga, New York which is racing country, I thought what a great match to be able to offer this unique treasure.

The horse pendant is approximately 3/4" in width and is featured on an 18" sterling silver chain.
