I opened a POP UP Shop here at The Hampton Inn & Suites for the week of December 13th to the 20th, 2016.
It was a slow day and I was to be open until 9 pm that Thursday night. Since it was snowing and extremely cold out, I figured there would not be much traffic.
At around 7 p.m., a man and his colleague came into the store. The man who was interested in my jewelry was wearing a big Disney Santa hat with lights and Mickey Mouse ears. He actually worked for Disney in California.
His name was Mitch and he said he travelled all over Asia and always looked at jewelry. With that being said, Mitch told me that my jewelry was total quality. He really admired it all.
Mitch picked out a few items and when we tallied up the bill, his credit card would not process thru my system. We tried another card and to no avail. Now this sale was over $200 so we didn’t want to lose Mitch as a paying customer.
Hi friend was trying to move him along because there were 20 people waiting at a restaurant down the street and Mitch was the boss of all those waiting at the table.
I suggested that Mitch provide me with his credit card, I would run the transaction and leave his credit card information and new RM Irish Jewels at the desk. He totally agreed.
Since it was a really cold evening and no one was out, my great friend Gayle stopped by to visit. I told her the story about the man with the Disney Santa hat.
Since Gayle has worked many a show with me, I told her how my Gail wanted me to write this book. Gayle said, you must write it! We started talking about all the wild stories we had and the next thing, it was 9 o’clock…time to close up.
As we were walking to our cars, Gayle was going in one direction and I was going in the other direction. The next thing I know, Gayle is yelling Ronnie! Ronnie! Now, this is just not like Gayle to be yelling across the street. I looked around and out of the corner of my eye, I see these flashing lights...yes, it was Mitch! Gayle knew that had to be him because of the Santa hat and Mickey Mouse ears.
Mitch was so thankful that I had done this for him so we went back into the hotel lobby and he paid me for my jewels.
